What You’ll Need:
- Bacon (12oz of “real” bacon OR bacon bits)
- 2 TBS Butter
- 1/4 C Flour
- 1/2 C BBQ Sauce (Jack Daniels, Sweet Baby Ray’s, etc.)
- 1/2 C Chicken Broth
- Spices:
- Chili Powder
- Paprika
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- 1/2 TBS Worcestershire
- 2 C Milk
- 3 Flavors of Shredded Cheeses, 1-2oz of each flavor: White Cheddar, Smoked Provolone, Asiago, Cheddar Jack, Parmesan, Pepper Jack, Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar, Fiesta, Mozzarella, etc.
- 8oz Elbow Noodles
Directions:
Cut and prepare bacon and set aside to cool OR gather bacon bits if you’re using those instead.
Prepare the noodles as directed on the boxed instructions. Once prepared, set aside to rinse and cool.
In a skillet, or in the pot you used to cook the noodles, melt the butter. Once melted, add the flour and whisk until well combined.
Add all spices, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire, and chicken broth – whisk until combined and allow to bubble for a few minutes (keep mixing even when bubbling).
Add milk and continue to whisk. Bring back to a bubble.
Add 3 cheese flavors of your choosing – whisk until cheese is melted and smooth.
Add pasta to the pot and stir to combine.
Add bacon and stir to combine.
Allow the noodles to cook with the cheese sauce for a few minutes.
